How come we don't have our own reality series?

Just wanted to update you on the portable storage boxes I checked out

First Ubox from Uhaul-The box is the perfect size for what I need but the hinges on the lock are very poor. Someone could easly break them. Seems to be made out of cheap wood.

The box from Door to Door was much better made with much more secure hinges. The wood was much thicker. I think I will be going with Door to Door. I am going to start negotiating with them.

Does anyone know the cheapest days of the week to rent a truck or a portable storage unit? My schedule is flexible.

Thank you again for all your assistance

You're considering using wooden containers on a cross country move? You did say you are moving to Florida?

I would not recommend using ANY wooden container moving cross country. Unless they give you a written guarantee, those containers are going to move on the bed of a flatbed truck, not an enclosed van. I pass them on the freeway every day.

Why do you think the price is so cheap? If you must use containers, contact someone like ABF or PODs, or the United or Mayflower container services. Those use metal, waterproof containers that are designed from cross country travel.

BigLeeCalif-They show they transport them on a flatbed truck but I will make sure they gaurantee that. They also cover them with a waterproof tarp. I walked inside a couple of them and was shocked that they don't smell. I was concerned my items would smell like wood. They say the metal ones are not good for FL due to the heat.

Well the ones I have seen come through here to get weights had the crappiest tarps I have ever seen. First shower would soak the wood.

Nothing is good in Florida because of the heat. That's why the warehouses are climate controlled.
