I just put a small deposit with Vanlines USA Moving & Storage. Does anyone know anything about this company?

First and foremost, putting a deposit on a move is the first sign of a broker. What is the DOT number of this company? I cannot find them in the government database of carriers. Where are they based out of? What is their address? Give us this information and we can find out more about them.

In the meantime, contact a "REAL" mover in your home town to come out and do a premove survey. Companies such as North American, Mayflower, Arpin, United, Bekins, Allied etc. Do your research.

This company has technically only been licensed since Feb 29. They revived an old license not active since 1999, using a shelf corporation in FL.

Best to cancel according to thwur written policy, get your deposit back, and find a mover in your current town who will.come to your house to see everything to be moved. That is the only way to get an accurate estimate. Where are you located?
