Re: Reviews of Moovers, Inc. (CA and NY metro area)

Postby stencil » Sat Feb 25, 2012 5:26 pm

Given all the positive replies for moves from NY to CA, I'm trying to give these guys a chance, but:

1) They don't answer their NJ phone line
2) Their email address is apparently offline

They're not starting off great. Are they not around on Fridays-Saturdays and are they normally nonresponsive?

I moved this topic to the "Open Community" as it wasn't a review.

I would keep trying. Not only are they top notch, they are normally very responsive. Not sure why you may have had issues getting in touch with them.

You can always call the california corporate phone number, and they will either put you in touch with a direct NJ line, or have someone from NJ respond to you immediately.

Thinks. The local office called me back right at 9am which is when I assume they open.

Tip for others: Moovers' officers are shut tight on weekends.

Most moving company offices are closed up tight on the weekends unless there are moves scheduled. I get a lot of calls on weekends from current customers on my cell. But they have had an estimate already and have my cell phone number for anytime contact.
For more information on moving or to file a complaint go to http://www.protectyourmove.gov

1..NEVER PAY A MOVER A DEPOSIT FOR INTERSTATE MOVING! IT COULD BE THE START OF THE BIG SCAM
2. GO WITH IN HOME ESTIMATES ONLY.
3. DO NOT USE A BROKER.

Actually, the only moving company I have ever seen advertise 24-hour phone access is Humboldt (United) in Boston, as posted on their website:

Toll Free Dial:(855) 894-5558 (on call 24 hours a day)

Mailing Address:
Humboldt Storage & Moving
Canton Commerce Center
100 New Boston Drive
Canton, MA 02021

Pretty remarkable.
