Re: ** Update to the superlist - NAVL

Sirva started buying up houses just before the market tanked. They have millions of houses in inventory, and I have no idea how they are still in business. The HHG was the only profitable portion of the company, and I doubt the HHG is very profitable anymore. Sirva could be in very big trouble. SIR...

Joyce Van Lines/Callahan Bros. - Largo, FL

Joyce Van Lines / Callahan Brothers in Largo, Florida has a sales rep using a white SUV that has North American Van Lines' name lettered on the doors along with D.O.T. numbers. This may be used to misrepresent an affiliation with NAVL. A cease and decist letter will be issued in the coming days. Ple...

Archie, I saw that same article...probably because of Reology being on there. It appears Apollo is headed for some type of reorganization.

Re: AMSA Membership

Yeah, we still belong. I called them and I educated myself on the ProMover program. It's a good idea, I just hope it keeps the rogue movers out. There's a few rogues from our area that belong and they (AMSA) are actually interested in our input on that topic. If you know of rogues that belong to AMS...

Re: Bekins Reorganizing

Gee...thanks for the info, Promover. Do you think it's wise to invest in some Kool-Aid stock? Noticed that Sirva, Inc. is on the list as still being on the bubble. And as far as the Kool-Aid remark, you better believe I invested in it! My whole business, my family, my life, you name it, it's riding...

Re: Bekins Reorganizing

I did not know Sirva innovated the home-purchase program. However, I've understood that it wasn't this tactic that hurt them, it may have been part of it, but the main contributing factors were different. It was (1) Some of the European companies it owned (that have since been sold off); (2) The OOI...

Re: Bekins Reorganizing

Is this similar to what Sirva did a year ago? Speaking of Sirva, hopefully the agents representing Allied and North American are able to survive the economic downturn. I'm no expert, but my interpretation is that so far the Bekins plan differs from the Sirva plan in that it will try to avoid bankru...

Re: My humble opinion.

We all pay the same price for fuel, trucks and other fixed costs. It's labor and insurance costs that make the difference. The bottom line for us is we pay almost all of our crew's Health and Dental and they are ALL employees not sub contractors. We don't buy Internet leads or any other sales leads...
