Re: Looking for Full /good mover FL to CT

I would recommend sticking to the following reputable companies that represent major van lines: First Class Moving, Clearwater, FL (North American Van Lines) Suddath Moving, Clearwater, FL (United Van Lines) Cox Moving Systems, Clearwater, FL (Bekins Van Lines) Blocker Transfer, St. Petersburg, FL (...

Re: Trying to decide whether to bother with movers

As far as affinity programs, you can go further than just a discount for the university staff. I'm not sure if you are selling or buying a home, but if so, ask the moving company if they have available, through their relocation company, any incentives for using their real estate agents and/or mortga...

Great post! Someone finally put it in writing. Well, if the computer is considered writing, I'll defer to Archie on that one.

Re: Rainbow Movers have thieves working there

Did you put the alleged missing items on a High Value Inventory? A High Value Inventory is a list of items that are deemed by the customer to be worth more than $100 per pound. If you did not fill this list out you basically waived your right to claim that these items were (a) in the LEGAL possessio...

I second PMueller's list, those are all great choices. No rogue movers on that list. Pick 3 or 4 and you will have done your due diligence.

Re: can Suddath be trusted as a relocation company?

Suddath is probably the best equipped company to service your relocation out of the three you have chosen.

Re: movers putting my beds together

True.....and that's what I meant by "affix it to the piece". However, the use of a "parts box" and subsequent inventorying of said box eliminates the possibility of an unruly or unscrupulous employee from saying the parts were not on the piece to begin with. If you have a parts box and it's inventor...

Re: ** Update to the superlist - NAVL

It seems that Allied has come out as a dominant carrier between the two. Some of the agents from Allied and NAVL seem to have left in a knee jerk reaction to the bankruptcy that SIRVA itself went through. Based on what? How can you say NAVL is a lesser van line than AVL just because you see more or...

Re: ** Update to the superlist - NAVL

Sirva started buying up houses just before the market tanked. As did Cartus, Prudential and all the others....nothing new there. Here's an article that proves Cartus is still doing it for the Post Office. We should wonder how THEY are still in business. They're also laying off people from their Cal...
