Re: Does anyone have comments about Lightning Van Lines?

One online horror story is too many. Especially when there are lots of good movers out there to choose from that have no horror stories in their backgrounds.

Re: Long Distance Move with Storage for a Month

The southeast and the midwest are pretty big areas. Can you please be a bit more specific (cities & states) as to where you are moving from and where you are moving to? With that information being known, you should get some assistance.

Re: "Find a mover websites"

It has been my opinion that when enough reputable movers get involved in online marketing, we will see some of those other companies, which have found the unsuspecting Internet consumer an easy target, disappear. If enough of the movers contacting a consumer from an Internet inquiry are promoting in...

Re: Moving from VA to CA, Need Help Comparing Estimates

The weights are close and all three are good, reputable companies. Unless something special stood out about Matthews or JK that makes you lean in their direction, I would choose Hilldrup, as well. It looks like Pete put together a good estimate for you. Good luck with your move.

Re: In the news

Very sad indeed. It does not make for good press for Allied even though they had nothing to do with the whole thing. Unfortunately, Allied Van Lines just became another of these scammers' victims. Also, I am sure some of the consumers think they will be OK using Budget Van Lines because they are fam...

Re: "Find a mover websites"

The latest statistic I have heard is that well over 50% of consumers looking for a mover go to the Internet. So, if you are not doing something online, you miss out on those opportunities. The lead providers are an easy way to get inquiries coming your way quickly, but the leads require some hard wo...

Re: Is this normal??

I own a bunk bed unit that looks similar. With mine you have to remove 8 lag bolts. The bolts are about six inches long so they always take me some time to remove and put back in with my socket wrench, but if I can do it, it can not be difficult. My name and mechanical do not belong in the same sent...

Re: **Skaleski Moving and Storage, Inc Green Bay, WI

I am glad everything went well with your move. As I had mentioned in an earlier post, I assumed it would. Sean Skaleski is one of the top consumer salespeople in the Allied system. With his personal attention to his customers, it is easy to understand why he does so well. Again, thank you for coming...

Re: Any Reputable movers near cambridge/zanesville/ Columbus OH?

I have a friend and former co-worker who is in local operations at Andrews Moving & Storage (agent for United Van Lines) in Columbus. Her name is Michelle and I am sure she will take good care of moving your aunt. The telephone number is 614.777.1515. Let her know chaz4moving referred you. I bel...

How do you find all this stuff Rick? You are definitely better at searching online than me. I am always impressed with your responses.

I believe you are in good hands. Your concerns based on your previous bad experience are understood. I hope all goes well. Is Skaleski hauling your shipment themselves?

Re: ABF U-Pack Relocubes VS. Allied Full service? Move from MA to NV.

It is your decision and I respect the choice you have made. Hopefully, you do not have anything too heavy or difficult to handle. Good luck with everything. Enjoy the drive with your sister and the dogs to Las Vegas. I assume there is probably about a 30 to 40 degrees temperature difference right no...

Re: Skaleski Moving and Storage, Inc Green Bay, WI

The follow-up messages are starting to make me wonder about the validity of the original post. It is sounding more and more like a disgruntled former employee or a competitor who has had a tough time competing trying to find someone who will say something nasty about Skaleski Moving & Storage.

Re: Opinion of Berger Movers (Allied Van Lines)-Moving from Scala to Dallas

You should be OK with Berger. In my years with Allied, I cannot remember having any problems with their offices or drivers. As a matter of fact, when one of their drivers was assigned to haul one of my shipments, I usually breathed a sigh of relief. I believe they are, by far, the largest hauling ag...

Re: Skaleski Moving and Storage, Inc Green Bay, WI

As Rick indicated in his post, I spent the majority of my moving career with agents representing Allied Van Lines. I am personally familiar with Skaleski Moving & Storage. In the past, they have assisted me with moving some of my customers and I was pleased with the service they provided. Also, ...
