Re: Information on KEY MOVING & STORAGE or INFINITY MOVING & STORAG

You have happily used All Star Moving twice before. Why are you even shopping for a different mover? All Star has earned your trust and should have earned your business this time around without you looking elsewhere. In my opinion, you should be going back to them again. There is a reason why All St...

Re: Confirmation of State of PA regulations - as advised by Sales Rep

I just re-read your original post and it appears the sales rep who said the price cannot be guaranteed is offering an hourly quote for an over 40 miles moves. If the distance between origin and destination is 41 miles or more, for a move within Pennsylvania, the charges must be calculated by weight,...

Re: Confirmation of State of PA regulations - as advised by Sales Rep

He is absolutely correct. Movers in Pennsylvania cannot give guaranteed prices on moves with both origin and destination in Pennsylvania. Also, discounts are not permitted. Rick is correct about the local moves being charged by the hour and intrastate moves (over 40 miles) being charged by weight an...

Re: GNTE estimates - based on weight only?

If you feel better having the small table and the kitchen chair on the survey sheet, by all means, ask the salesperson to add it. I doubt two small items, like these, will cause you a problem later with the driver, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. I would assume the salesperson will pr...

Re: Anyone here heard of South North Vanlines?

If you have a lot of furniture and boxes or additional services required, rhe $4250.00 price tag could be accurate. Did that price include cartons, packing labor, and additional protection? Did it include a shuttle at your pickup in NYC? Are any of the quotes you have received from an agent for a ma...

Re: *Pittsburgh to Seattle 2BR Apt, Allegheny Valley->Weleski

Do not worry. You are in good hands. They people at Weleski know what they are doing or they would not have offered you should a good deal. The driver will, most likely, be paid on a percentage of the charges, not by the mile. It appears Weleski is probably hauling this shipment themselves, so they ...

Re: Pittsburgh to Seattle 2BR Apt, Allegheny Valley->Weleski

It does not sound a little shady to me. They actually have a reason for giving you a better discount. Most of the time, the discounts do not make sense. This one does. Weleski is a great company with an excellent reputation. All of the companies you received quotes from are good outfits. You made a ...

Both are excellent companies. I personally know the owners of both Parks and South Hills. I feel they are honest individuals who are interested in providing quality service for their customers. Either company should be a good choice.

Re: Can I win a claim for overcharging on packing material?

Did the mover do an in-home survey before the move or was the GTNE estimate based on a phone conversation or inventory you filled out online? As much as I would like to see you fight for the full $600.00 refund, I think you may be best to take the $300.00 and chalk-up the other $300.00 to education ...

Re: Attention all consumers, schedule 1 estimate at a time!!!

From her response, it appears to me that she is only shopping for the lowest price. It is really kind of sad because, in the end, she may be very disappointed and unhappy. However, it is her choice to make. As you said, be thankful you found out about the "audition" before you made the drive to her ...

Re: Attention all consumers, schedule 1 estimate at a time!!!

You are absolutely correct J. C. What I was referencing earlier is the industry as a whole and the fact that many consumers see no difference between moving companies. As a result, they see no reason we cannot all be there at one time. I feel we need to destroy the image that we are all the same and...

Re: Moving from Houston to Dallas

In my opinion, Daryl Flood is just as good now as they were six years ago. It is hard to say what difference the affiliation makes. I am thinking that the difference is minor between the big five van lines. Personally, I have represented three of them as a sales rep and I do not see a huge differenc...

Re: Attention all consumers, schedule 1 estimate at a time!!!

It has been my observation that most movers do a poor job of differentiating themselves from all of the other movers. Therefore, the consumer sees us all as being the same when comes to the quality of service provided. That leaves only one difference from which they will make their choice, PRICE. As...
