Re: moving from MD to NV

USA Moving Services has no license number listed on their website, so at first glance it's difficult to know for sure whether they're even legit or not. Ask them for their MC license number, and that'll tell you at www.protectyourmove.gov if they are a licensed carrier or just a broker (and to be av...

Re: Suggested Movers for So. Florida to NC?

I hope that you are aware that U-Pack by ABF is a completely different service that requires you to pack your stuff, load it onto a trailer, they drive the trailer to your new place, and you unload. It's a good way to save money, but only if you know you have reliable labor at either end. Just wante...

Re: Personal Touch Moving Inc.

The first question we need to ask you is if YOU are located near Oxford, MI. You want whatever movers you are considering to be able to send an estimator to your house to see everything to be moved. Do not take any estimates offered without a visual inspection by a trained professional.

Re: Raleigh to Wilmington NC move--seeking some answers

You can ask if they can convert the non-binding into a binding. They could say no, but it's worth an ask. A non-binding quote will result in the truck being weighed. If it is binding, the price is flat and will not change up or down so weighing is not required. If you trust the mover, and the mover ...

Re: new review of Unique Van Lines

"Single mother discount", huh? That's a new one. I guess scammers are getting creative with their wild promises to get people's business. Moving APT has had so many complaints over the last three years. Your situation is not unique. I'm just sorry that you weren't able to find this out bef...

Re: USA moving and JandP moving not delivering our goods

Since J&P is now closed down, you should contact the insurance company directly and keep asking to speak to the person in charge of that cargo insurance policy (may be transferred a few times). Explain the situation and let them know you'd like to file a loss and damage claim. You won't get much...

We're SO glad to hear you got your things! Sorry about your TV. Was it very expensive? Do you want to file a police report on it?

I do think you should file a loss claim. It wouldn't be for the money, but to get on record that you believe their workers took your TV.

Re: new review of Alliance Moving Services

It is true that having several loads on a truck is cheaper than having a truck dedicated to just your shipment, but usually the former is the implied standard method, with the latter being discussed in special circumstances. The salesperson may have been deliberately shady there. Do you know which c...

Re: Suggested Movers for So. Florida to NC?

Since you're located right in the viper's nest for scammers, we'd be happy to offer research services to make sure you're dealing with a legitimate company. They might send an estimator out to you to appear OK, but not have any plans to treat you well one loaded.

They've been talked about here before. I'm sorry you got scammed by then. Have you filed your official complaint let through www.protectyourmove.gov?

I've wondered how a company that reports 22 trucks and drivers only logs 100,000 miles driven in a year.

Is this the company? I think I've seen their trucks around. m He does not appear to be licensed to move ANYONE, ANYWHERE. I'm so sorry that she got scammed. He really did a number on her. Did you catch the name/number of the company that actually delivered? If they're licensed and insured I can look...
