Re: movingsham.com featured on www.consumerist.com

What makes it even worse is that the story was first published by CBS News' Real Estate web site, so between the two sites there have been a lot of people getting that information. I appreciate the publicity, and every story about moving scams helps out a lot of consumers... however... I never thoug...

Re: Moving from Rhode Island to Colorado

REAL MOVERS are required by Federal Regulations to provide only VISUAL estimates (except in rare circumstances) and I just can't agree with you here. I'm glad that Moovers is the best moover in history, but every move they do is probably not a rare circumstance. If my company advertised on this sit...

Re: Companies state they are licensed for interstate & intrastate but..

Ahh, okay. Sorry for the confusion. It's still the Bill of Lading that determines responsibility though, so that makes the original company the one to (try to) deal with.

Re: Companies state they are licensed for interstate & intrastate but..

What is the company name that's on the Bill of Lading? The BOL is your legal contract to service the move, and the company who's name is on that document is the one responsible to fulfill the terms of the contract. I don't mean this to sound mean, but I couldn't think of another way to put it: the b...

Honestly, I'm not big on self-promotion but since you asked... Re: Paramount movers in Annapolis Junction MD

Have you paid them a deposit yet? If you cancel by phone or email, make sure to follow up with at certified letter re-stating your cancellation notice. You want to make sure that you have proof that they were notified of your request in case they claim they didn't get your phone call or email. Tim W...

Hi Robert, I'm sorry that you had to go through this but in regards to announcing it, did you really mean to have the same post under two different topics? The search engines will pick it up just as well if it's under " WOW THIS IS TOO MUCH " or " PARAMOUNT PACKING & RELOCATION "SCAM" " Since th...

I'm sure that there are probably one or two fine upstanding business owners out there that would love to send me one of those care packages! I'll have to work out a deal with them to watch my back.
