Re: ABF UPack Move Van Nuys, CA to Greenwich, CT

We bought three bars - we did one at the top - one in the middle and one near the bottom. It was tricky - because when we would put one bar one - then try the next one - expanding the 2nd bar out - would make the first bar release from the wall. And in transit - the top bar ended up coming loose - b...

Re: Prostar Auto Transport / Pioneer Auto Transport

Right - we were originally given a spread - then I called to see if I could narrow the date down (about a week in advance) and they told me if they picked it up on the 16th - it would actually take longer to get here - dont' know why. I was told if they picked up on the 20th - it would be here in th...

ABF UPack Move Van Nuys, CA to Greenwich, CT

We finally made it to the East Coast. YAY! My experience with ABF UPack was great. I must have called them 20-30 times with questions, confirmations, etc. We used 14 feet of the 28 foot trailer. Thanks to all the great advice on this forum - I had tarps and Saf T Lock bars ready. The trailer was dro...

Re: ProStar Auto Transport

Good to know. My driver is with Pioneer Auto Transport. He is running slightly late- but who isn't with LA traffic. ABF dropped off my trailer on time this AM - now if I can just get the cars picked up before taking the cats to the vet at 4 for the health certificates for the flight. I'm discovering...

Re: ProStar Auto Transport

I was so stunned to be getting a call today - I didn't catch the company name - although he did say it. I will definitely keep you posted. They are shipping my Toyota Rav4 - which I'm not worried about - but my husbands new Dodge Magnum - UGH. If anything happens to that car - this marriage could be...

ProStar Auto Transport

Will reserve the full review for post-move in a couple weeks - but I'm quite annoyed that after being told by ProStar that the pick up would be on Friday - only to get a call from the driver - who wants to pick up the cars today. So we had to compromise on a Thursday date - because we both have full...

Re: Kinedyne Saf T Lock Bars?

Okay - I went out to Anaheim - bright and early to get these. I got three - so one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom, right? Also - should I put furniture in first or boxes? The only furniture we're taking is three beds and a leather couch. The rest is boxes and misc stuff like bi...

Re: Traveling With Your Pet

Oh yes - it's a non-stop flight - a little over 5 hours. We are definitely going to ask the vet when we take them in for their health certificates next week.

Re: Traveling With Your Pet

We have to fly from LAX to JFK later this month with our two cats. Our oldest - flex from CLT to LAX 4 years ago - no sedation - no problems on US Airways, so I'm not worried about him. Our younger cat - is afraid of his own shadow. When we have visitors - he hides for days. The least little sounds ...

Do you tip your UPack Driver

He/She won't be helping us load or anything just driving the goods? Do you tip? And what is standard? And do you do it when they drop off the trailer at your destination or when they pick it up? Or are these all different people - i.e. 1 guy picks it up from your house - 1 guy drives it across and a...

Kinedyne Saf T Lock Bars?

Thanks for all the invaluable information I've found here. But I've sifted through so much - I can't remember where I saw the SIZE bars needed for ABF Upack trailers? The nearest distributor to Los Angeles is in Anaheim - ugh.
