Re: putting my stuff in storage

...What's the best way to find a company that will both move my stuff and store it without charging me an arm and a leg and keep my stuff intact and safe for the duration?... Moving and storage is a financially depressed industry, and has been for quite some time. This is due to... (1) anyone with ...

Re: Mover isn't delivering belongings

Did you sign an "Order For Service" which should have specified the latest that your shipment would be delivered?

Re: Please help! You might have my things

Over the past 40 years I've found that 99% of customers who are "missing boxes" find them inside their home. Then again, you may be a member of the 1%.

Re: Alberta Better Business Bureau warns against moving scam

Yes, it appears to me that the value of the Better Business Bureau is solely that it counts complaints. But let's not underestimate the value of this single measure of worth. IMO, it is a huge measure of quality...one of the few consumers can utilize. The BBB's "grade" rating? It appears w...

Re: Alberta Better Business Bureau warns against moving scam

In my opinion consumers should also be warned about the Better Business Bureau, who has awarded a local mover here on Long Island an "A" rating, despite this mover having collected 19 complaints (as of 3/31/15) over the past 3 years which appears to be one of the worst BBB records on Long ...

Re: Dallas to Los Angeles, selecting mover

Atlas does charge for destination shuttles Bill, and Atlas also refunds 100% for weight which is under the estimate. As I mention previously, Both United and Mayflower are fine companies although, like all van line organizations, quality does vary among different agency locations...so it certainly p...

Re: DC Local Move

I've often wondered about those totes. While they are fairly thick plastic, they are still plastic and as you say, have a "V" shape that I've often wondered wouldn't cause problems. Thanks for the update Chris... What is most troubling is that the industry continues to load these plastic ...

Re: DC Local Move

...I am fine with being reimbursed for the plastic bins, which were not that expensive anyway ($25 or so each)...In my experience, it is not possible to have moves without any damage... Apparently, someone must have advised every consumer on planet Earth that plastic bins are the best way to pack, ...

Re: Dallas to Los Angeles, selecting mover

When I inquired specifically, yes, and it was in the fine print of the paperwork. Well there you have it: this most important facet of the carrier's pricing was not disclosed to you until after you specifically asked. As a result, you may wonder what else is in the fine print which has not been dis...

Re: Dallas to Los Angeles, selecting mover

Thank you for this advice, Christopher! I checked with all three, and yes, Atlas is the only one that refunds 100%. I guess I'm a little surprised at this big policy difference among the major van lines, but I'm glad that I asked. Thank you! Please tell me Hmoney, was this fact disclosed to you by ...
