Re: The secret insides of a moving scam operation: GUILTY PL

Thanks for posting this encouraging info MM! I remember very well the stress it caused when my moving company delayed my move by a day and a half. I had to vacate my apartment and get to a new job 600 miles away. They know that most people are in this kind of limited time situation and they've alway...

Re: AMSA President & CEO to Testify Before Congress Tomorrow

What, and they didn't invite me to the hearing?

the govt could put together an 'untouchables' team and go after the 30 or 40 crooks and attack them directly. It wouldn't be that hard.

Archie, that's an idea that I like.

Re: Anyone know of a good moving company For moving?

On the contrary, the BBB rating is not that important. It's okay to look at it but remember the BBB is a business itself and companies pay to be members. They don't like to give paying members a low grade. We've seen atrocious companies with 'A' ratings.

Re: proud american moving

I used ABF to move my elderly parents two states over. They had 50 years worth of stuff so we filled up an entire trailer. We hired some guys from a local moving company to load the trailer and we did the same thing for unloading. If you do this it would be important to have thick moving blankets to...

Re: EASY MOVERS INC. in PineVille,NC

I have not used them for a long distance move but I used them to load an ABF trailer when my parents were moving. It was not an easy job; my parents had 50 years worth of stuff. I found them to be friendly, reliable, helpful and hardworking.

Re: Texas cracks down on moving scams

This is good news. Thanks for posting it. I still remember being casually told by the cop that it was a 'civil matter' when I was desperately trying to avoid getting screwed out of thousands of dollars. I hope other states follow suit. (And yes, I did my homework before hiring them---DOT and BBB.)

Re: Bravo Auto and National Transport LLC

Do you have DOT numbers, addresses and phone numbers for these companies. With that information we can properly research them. Did you find them on the internet? Did they come to your home to see what has to be moved? $890 to move across the country isn't a realistic price so I'm suspicious. If you'...

Re: California Movers (mycaliforniamovers.com)

Don't do it. All of us here who got scammed had written quotes that were then doubled, tripled or more once our belongings were locked on the truck. Then we had no recourse. Scam companies know the chances are good that they'll get away with their scam. The police will usually not get involved and w...

Re: I'm overwhelmed! Have a small move & there is small print everywher

Kimba, MusicMom is right, USA Express is just OK, not stellar. They have a few more complaints on their BBB record than I would like to see. I would eliminate all of these companies and start from the SuperList with movers that are in Pennsylvania. It's rather important to have the movers look at wh...

Re: Express moving and Storage

would this make it a safe choice? No it wouldn't. This website exists because of companies like this. They will put whatever you want in writing because they know there is little chance of paying any consequences if they don't make good on it. If a company has any hostage loads in its history you s...

Re: Apple Movers

It looks like you are referring to Apple Movers, DOT #1918708, with addresses in California and Florida. They have a terrible record with the DOT at www.protectyourmove.gov including 4 hostage load complaints and 11 complaints about estimates/final charges. If you haven't done so already, you should...
