Jeff, did I mistakenly think that D.Flood was endorsed by your site, while it never was?

Enlighten me, please.

Re: Auto Transport Reviews (see p. 31 for companies we endorse)

Yes, I'm aware that the coverage is horrible. I can insure it through my insurance company (a bit costly, but covers EVERYTYHING). I have found an Italian company that seems to know what they are doing, they have a direct container from Houston to Italy. Have you ever heard about Del Corona & Sc...

Re: Auto Transport Reviews (see p. 31 for companies we endorse)

Hi guys. I'm honestly trying to read this thread, but it's very long and rather overwhelming. I need to ship a car from U.S. (Texas) to Italy. Could someone who knows the topic please-please talk to me? The companies that everybody say are good (like Golden Key and the other one on page 31) only do ...

Need dependable insurance company for insuring a car going overseas

I am fixing to ship my car from the U.S. to Italy. "Dependable Auto Shippers" is the company I will probably use. (If anybody can recommend a better one for Roll-on - Roll-off service, please do so). However, DAS only offers Blue-book total loss coverage. My car has a lot of custom work done to it, ...

Re: Insurance: weight multiplier versus valued inventory (int'l sea shipmen

Noone, as usual thank you for your answer. The main thing that I do not understand, is:

For example, a box that has contents listed as "fabrics, tools" gets lost. How in the world do I claim it, if I myself will be very hazy what was in that box to begin with?

Insurance: weight multiplier versus valued inventory (int'l sea shipment)

Hi, I've already got a lot of very valuable advice on this site - thank you so much. I have one last question that bugs me tremendously: I can't decide between weight multiplier insurance and valued inventory insurance. Both would include the following: All-risk, non-deductible, full replacement val...

Re: US to Italy move - household goods, tools & a car...

Below is the Rainier quote. Could you please tell me if I read it correctly? As I understood, it means: "no matter how much your liftvan weighs, this is your flat rate that nothing would change". Am I correct? The shipment route: trucking to NYK with Atlantic Relocations, then shipped from Port New ...

Re: US to Italy move - household goods, tools & a car...

Well, you guys convinced me that I should forget about appealing website quotes that are not based on much.... The best quote I've got so far is from Rainier for 1 liftvan door-to-door, approximately $4.200, which is within my budget. I would like to get top coverage on two items (chop saw & tab...

AMID Logistics, LLC - has anyone used them? Any better suggestions?

AMID Logistics, LLC Their website is m All I could find out about them is that they ARE registered with Federal Maritime Commission and NOT accredited by BBB. FMC says they had 1 resolved complaint apparently since they were licensed. The prices are very appealing. They said that Dallas (where I am...

Re: US to Italy move - household goods, tools & a car...

Your explanations helped a lot. Thanks! So... It's in my best interest to have the weight as accurate as possible and negotiate based on that, right? Daryl Flood rep said the same thing - weight only matters on this side of the ocean, from door to the ocean. What about "warehouse to warehouse" optio...

Re: US to Italy move - household goods, tools & a car...

Well, I'm definitely sending car and household goods separately, so I'm trying to figure it out the "goods" now. Well, Daryl Flood were MUCH more accurate with their weight estimate. I have actually weighed the stuff myself (almost done). Appreciate all the advice. Definitely going to go with "door"...
