Re: International

Both are licensed by the FMC (Federal Maritime Commission) and International Van Lines is affiliated with Ocean Star International which is an endorsed company on this website. I would recommend you ask them both to provide an in-home estimate if it hasn't been done already. Please keep in mind that...

Re: Is an at home survey necessary when I have already packed my small move

If you're only shipping a few boxes make sure you email the exact dimensions for each box. It's peak season in the moving industry so getting someone out to do a visual survey, especially on a small box move would be next to impossible. Since you're only shipping a few boxes you should ask for a fla...

If you didn't feel comfortable with them, that's a different story. I would express your concerns to Sterling right away.

Re: Sterling International - Did I make a mistake?

NESTLE

It's peak season for the moving industry and renting or leasing trucks is pretty common this time of year. I don't personally know Best Guy, but I do know that Sterling is a decent company.

Did the movers do a good job?

Re: Can anyone recommend Morgan Shipping Lines ?

If this company is affiliated with Echo I would run and run fast. Echo was a well known scam company that left multiple shipments stranded and customers paying triple to get there goods cleared and delivered. Don't be greedy. Find a good company to ship your goods even if it costs more money. It wil...

Re: Blue Horizon Shipping

Good point. International shipping is governed by the Federal Maritime Commission. The FMC laws do require that ocean freight be based on volume and not weight, however, if a company's offering full door to door service they can give a price breakdown with the origin being based on weight, ocean on ...

Re: Blue Horizon Shipping

Pinwheels, I would take Blue Horizon out of the mix and focus on working with one of the others you’ve mentioned. Ocean freight is different than domestic moving because it’s based on volume and not so much weight. Some companies however, will give you a price per cubic foot and others will breakdow...

Re: Small Move (70 cu ft - boxes only) of personal stuff NYC to UK ?

I think you might only have 2 more companies to go and then you've officially contacted every moving company on the planet. Yes, I'm being sarcastic of course. Spend some sometime to read through the advice on this website so you can educate yourself rather then posting 10 companies names and asking...
