Re: ReloCube padlock- how big does it have to be?

I'm unsure of the lock but in addition it would not hurt to get a tamper tag. thin pice of metal with a serial number on it. clips in same hole and you will know if someone even thought of looking into your shipment.

Weights and how to advoid a scam with weight tickets.

ok first thing since you are paing out of pocket. I will suggest you as the customer tell the sales man you require a back weigh as well. It is next to impossible to get a weight to weight the same 2 times in a row. they will always be off by a few pounds. 6 miles to the gallon a gallon of fuel is a...

Re: Half-Full Relocube

here's an idea as well worked for me. I bought something on e bay, I could not pick it up in my own truck so I hired R L carriers through a broker. you place what you are shipping on a pallet supplied by who is shipping. Cube your shipement up on pallets shrink wrap the pallets and they will pick it...

Re: Fuel surcharge

The current fuel surcharge IS 5%. Down from a high this Summer of 18%. The fuel surcharge is based on the National Average price for diesel on the first Monday of every month. It become applicable on the 15th of that same month. Right now it looks like the fuel surcharge may go lower on the 15th of...

Re: Can someone recommend a local mover in the Charlotte, NC area?

Ok I have an idea for a lower cost local move. U haul rents out trucks and they as well rent out helpers to load and unload you're truck. It's just an idea. I do hope you get pointed in the right way.

Re: tipping

It's a service industry.. Seriously tho anything over 200$ each is to much. I am a mover and I cringe to set a max ammount but truth be told anything over that ammount is too much. It is a good idea to tip your movers before you start the move. 20$ each when they show up.. It's not right but you wil...

Re: Declaring value of shipment on Full Value Protection?

As a driver the first thing I have to do is make you in your own hand writing write down on a declaration page is how much insurance you want and what your deductiable is, and then you inital off that is what you want. I have to do this before I place a single Item on to my truck. but the final numb...

Re: profesionally packing a computer

Ok Use a dish barrel, Line the bottom of the box with plenty of paper. most towers will fit inside this box on it's side. stuff as much paper as you can fit around corners of the pc. If you have the older monitor, not an LCD! you can add more paper on top on your computer and place it tube down. the...

Stemware, Ok here's how I been doing it for years, I did like the millk carton idea. I don't drink enough milk to do that with all of my customers. Ok get a book carton also known as a 1.5 about about 5 sheets of paper in the bottom of carton, now wrap the Stemware in paper about 2 sheets per item, ...

Re: How to get an accurate estimate

I wish that all of my customers have seen this, I'm on the other end of the deal I have to break the news that the shipment is over the original estimate, I have to pull out my cube sheet and show them what the sales man was shown and point out that the pool table and baby grand where not on the ori...

Re: Auto Transport Reviews (see p. 31 for companies we endorse)

Ok I'll admit I only glanced over a few pages on this thread. It may have been stated in here already. If you love your car make sure its transported in a covered truck. About 3 Years ago I moved some guy to Denver from Ohio. I don't rember much of the move but his car stood out. It was a fully rest...

Re: Tips on getting free boxes

Ok, here is a good idea as well, when you call up a co. for an estimate usually the sales man will bring a handful of boxes to try to sweeten the deal on getting your buisness. Now if you call up every moving co in your area you will end up with a large ammount of boxes. Just hide the boxes from the...
